Keep your mind calm and steady, irrespective of the situation – Sunderkand
In discussion with Mr. Rajesh Manuja.
–
Q. What emotions did you experience while reading the book?
A feeling of Calmness as this book made me introspect myself as well. The writing – specially the first few chapters made you close your eyes and imagine the scene which was so vividly explained in words.
–
Q. Did the book leave a lasting impression on you? If yes, how?
It made me think about the value of Faith. The Faith/Trust Hanuman had in Lord Ram made him believe in his own abilities and explore the strength of those abilities so well.
–
Q. Had you read or heard the Sunderkand before this, and did this book deepen your connection with it?
I haven’t heard of it. The Book did make me realize how great Hanuman was and his Faith in Ram and his belief in his own abilities.
–
Q. Did you discuss the book with friends or family after finishing it?
Yes – Discussed with them and I am sure you will see a couple of people buying it as well 😊
–
Q. Which part of the book do you think most readers will connect with?
The first few Chapters were too good and pulled you into the story so well. The narrative was well structured to explain Hanuman as a great devotee (bhakt) and as a great problem solver with astute knowledge about plants, people and what not.
–
Q. Did you read the book in one go or over several sittings? Why?
Practically in One go – except for a 20 minute break in between for an important call to attend to.
–
Q. Will you re-read the book? If yes, what do you think you’ll gain the second time?
Yes – Will re read. Specially the chapters after Hanuman reaches Lanka. I couldn’t get deeper into the thought process of Hanuman during that time frame.
–
Q. Do you see yourself gifting this book to others?
Yes, to my Kids.
Q. What do you think of the book’s cover? How well does it convey what the book is about?
Very well done with a focus on Hanuman and the Leap in front of him.
–
Q. What is your overall rating (out of 5) of the book and why?
4.5/5 – Primarily because I need to re-read the last few chapters for me to understand the psyche of Hanuman a bit better.
