In discussion with Mr. Mukesh Vadhvani.

Q. Had you heard or read the Sunderkand before reading A Leap of Faith?
Ans. Yes, there is a Hanuman temple in my hometown where they organize the annual Sundarkaand Katha event.
–
Q. If you were unfamiliar with it, how easy was it for you to understand the context provided in the book?
Ans. It was very easy to understand the context (though I have never attended the katha there)
–
Q. Did the book spark your curiosity to explore or read the Sunderkand afterwards?
Indeed, the book sparked my curiosity.
–
Q. How effective was the author in simplifying spiritual or mythological concepts for new readers?
Ans. It was very effective; instead of reading, I felt like I was on a mission with Lord Hanuman.
–
Q. Did you feel emotionally connected to the characters?
Ans. Yes, I felt connected to the author-orator Pandit Narottam, especially with my friend and companion Maruti.
–
Q. What are your key learnings through this book?
Ans. There are many learnings through this book.
- The very first is not to lose your character in earning money; wealth without true character is not worthy.
- Every situation has a solution, provided you are calm enough to understand it.
- Learning of dharma and adharma.
- I learnt the meaning of the word OM.
- Last but not least, always have faith in God.
–
Q. Were there any parts that you felt required prior knowledge of the Sunderkand to appreciate fully?
Ans. No, I didn’t feel any prior knowledge of the Sunderkand was necessary.
–
Q. Did the book make ancient wisdom feel relevant to modern-day life situations?
Ans. Indeed, yes, in modern-day life, if we apply ancient wisdom, we will be more successful in humanity.
–
Q. As a reader of a Sunderkand-inspired work, what impressed you the most?
Ans. Do not deviate from your target. If you have decided on something, complete it without deviation and with true devotion.
–
Q. What do you think of the book’s cover? How well does it convey what the book is about?
Ans. The cover is pretty good, and it depicts the power and Longsightedness (vision) with obstacles in the path!
–
Q. What is your overall rating (out of 5) of the book and why?
Ans. Overall rating is 4.5, as I was able to connect with the characters and live with the story. Suspense is there, along with practical learnings we can apply in day-to-day life. The length of the book could have been a little longer, with a bit more intro to the Ramayan characters who might appear in future parts.
